Why it Exists
Better decisions start with the right people around you.
Security leadership can be isolating. The issues move quickly, the information is rarely complete, and the consequences are real.
See around corners
Gain earlier perspective on emerging risks, changing expectations, and how other leaders are preparing.
Make stronger decisions
Pressure-test the path forward with peers who understand the complexity and consequences of the choices in front of you.
Build a network you can rely on
Develop relationships with leaders you can call for candor, recommendations, introductions, or a second opinion when the stakes are high.
FACES OF THE COMMUNITY
The leaders who help bring the community together.
Our community champions initiate timely discussions, moderate candid exchange, host experiences, and connect members with one another.
They bring experience across federal service, global enterprises, technology, protective intelligence, executive protection, investigations, insider risk, and security transformation.
What Membership Includes
One community. Multiple ways to engage.
The Executive Council is designed as one continuous experience, not a collection of one-off events.
Every member can access the full range of community offerings and tailor their participation around their location, industry, interests, and priorities.
Peer relationships and introductions
Build connections with members who understand the responsibility of the role and can offer candid perspectives.
New members are introduced to the Council when they join. Members may also request direct introductions based on role, industry, location, experience, or a challenge they are working through.
An always-on private community
Join ongoing conversations in the Council’s private Slack workspace. Ask questions, compare approaches, share recommendations, and continue discussions between formal gatherings.
Channels organize conversations by topic, industry, region, and event, making it easy for members to find and join the discussions most relevant to them. Members might compare responses to an emerging incident, ask for a peer recommendation, connect around an upcoming conference, or continue a conversation after a Council experience.
Timely virtual exchange
Participate in structured virtual roundtables or rapid-response huddles when a significant event warrants immediate peer discussion.
These conversations give members a timely way to understand how others are responding, what they are prioritizing, and where their own assumptions may need to change.
Curated in-person experiences
Connect at Security Executive Dinners, happy hours, select industry gatherings, and the closed-door Executive Council experience at the Ontic Summit.
Regional invitations are generally prioritized based on location, but all members can view upcoming experiences and request to attend outside their home market.
Research shaped by the Council
Contribute to member polls, surveys, and the Annual Corporate Security Benchmark Report.
Themes and aggregate insights may inform published research, but no member or organization will be identified without explicit permission. Members may also be invited to contribute to podcasts, speaking opportunities, or facilitated discussions based on their interests.
OUR COMMUNITY STANDARDS
Built for candor, contribution, and continued connection.
Chatham House Rules
Council conversations are held under the Chatham House Rule unless otherwise stated.
No selling
Members are here to exchange perspectives, not market to one another. Sales pitches, product promotion, and vendor noise are not allowed.
Ongoing membership
Membership does not require annual renewal. It remains active while the member continues to meet eligibility requirements and follow the Council’s community standards.
