Ensuring Equity When Conducting Behavioral Wellness Assessments

When implemented with fidelity and care, multidisciplinary behavioral wellness assessment protocols can help schools effectively identify and mitigate risks to the health and safety of students and the school community. However, if failing to address issues like implicit bias, these same protocols can exacerbate systemic problems like exclusionary disciplinary practices and the school-to-prison pipeline, which disproportionately impact students of color and those with disabilities.

Join our roundtable discussion with Dr. Amy Grosso, Director of Behavioral Health Services, Round Rock ISD and Dr. Tracie Robinson, Principal/CEO, Marshall ISD, as they discuss approaches to ensure equity when conducting behavioral wellness assessments.
