Lauren Hoy

Lauren is the Protective Intelligence Manager at Pinterest, where she has been designing and implementing the company’s first threat and risk intelligence team for the last year. Prior to Pinterest, she was the Director of Risk Analysis at Concentric Advisors, a leading West Coast security consultancy, supporting a variety of clients with intelligence for threat assessment, travel security, and other analysis of threat actors.

Through her work with some of the largest tech companies in the San Francisco Bay Area, Lauren has not only leveraged OSINT in novel ways to keep employees safe, but also built a deep expertise in extremist movements on tech platforms. She holds a Master’s degree concentrating in Strategic Studies and China Studies from Johns Hopkins SAIS and a Bachelor of International Relations and East Asian Studies from the College of William and Mary.
