Melissa is a Human Relations (HR)professional committed to building strategic partnerships between security and HR to reduce threats and strengthen the health and safety of our organizations. With more than 25 years as a creative HR practitioner, she offers unique insight into multi-disciplinary collaboration strategies to bring prevention upstream into our people practices.
Melissa has been a leader in the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP) for more than a decade, from Past President of the Northwest Chapter to presenter (voted “Most Inspirational Speaker”) to every TAP organization worldwide, as well as a trainer for Gavin de Becker’s Advanced Threat Academy. With the federal courts and security partners, she developed a comprehensive video series on preventing workplace violence.
Melissa holds an MBA from the University of Washington and a law degree, with a focus on
employment law and mediation, from the Seattle University School of Law.
