Melissa is a Human Relations (HR) professional committed to building strategic partnerships between security and HR to reduce threats and strengthen the health and safety of our organizations. With more than 25 years as a creative HR practitioner, she offers unique insight into multi-disciplinary collaboration strategies to bring prevention upstream into our people practices.
Melissa has been a leader in the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP) for more than a decade, from Past President of the Northwest Chapter to presenter (voted “Most Inspirational Speaker”) to every ATAP organization worldwide, as well as a trainer for Gavin de Becker’s Advanced Threat Academy. With the federal courts and security partners, she developed a comprehensive video series on preventing workplace violence.
Melissa holds an MBA from the University of Washington and a law degree, with a focus on employment law and mediation, from the Seattle University School of Law.
