Meet some Onticians

Erin

Sr Manager, People Programs

Q.

What's something quirky about your company?

A.

I've never been at a company with so many funny people! Is that weird? I continually find myself with a stitch in my side. It's amazing to be supporting a mission that is so important and to be doing it alongside a great group of people who are also passionate about that mission and at the same time we are able to let loose while we do. It is refreshing.

Team Lead, Strategic Intelligence Services

Q.

What's something that you wish you knew before joining Ontic?

A.

I wish I'd known how exciting working in the private sector could be. When I was in law enforcement, one of the driving factors for me was making a difference. Being with Ontic has allowed me to do that on a much larger scale and in ways I didn't think were possible outside my previous industry. It's incredibly fulfilling to be part of a company whose mission is so close to my heart and to work with my fellow Onticians and the clients we serve!

David

VP, Growth

Q.

How do your team's ideas influence the company's direction?

A.

As salespeople we're typically the folks who spend the most time speaking with new potential partners and understanding the ecosystems and strategies they and their teams employ. The feedback the Sales Team provides is taken into account immediately by other groups and these other teams nimbly shift approaches, priorities, and strategies.

Q.

What do you love most about working at Ontic?

A.

Out of many positive cultural traits, transparency, helpful leadership and non-political culture stand out the most. The best part of being an Ontician is working with a passionate and committed team of designers, engineers, product and strategy team. The spirit of 'never settle' is true for all teams and individuals here. As a designer, it is always fun to design the right solutions for the right problems, and being at Ontic you get to do that every day.

Q.

How does your team in India stay connected with the US team?

A.

The culture at Ontic is the best! You can feel it across the entire global team both in the US and India. People are hard-working and the leadership is empathetic. I am in Product Development so we collaborate a lot with US teams over Slack and email as as well as via weekly Zoom calls. Apart from that we also have ongoing 'All Hands' Zoom calls where our Executive Leadership Team provides updates on the business to the entire global team and 'Good News Friday' call where we all share positive news from both our personal and professional lives.

Our values show in the way we treat our clients and each other

good
We do good above all

We believe good always wins. Doing the right thing isn't always the easiest or fastest path, but it is inherent to who we are as individuals and as a company.

lead
We lead with empathy

We seek to understand others’ perspectives and consider them when making decisions. This applies to how Ontic interacts with clients and how we treat each other as teammates.

Group 157
raise
We raise the bar

We aim to be best-in-class in everything we do. From the people we hire, the quality of our product, and how we bring our brand to life, we are building not only for the company we are today but the company we will be tomorrow.

walk
We walk the walk

We know that if you talk the talk, you’ve got to walk the walk. Keeping our word and delivering on our promises to our clients and to each other is foundational, especially in the industry we serve.

move
We keep moving

We are always improving. If we don’t know the answer today, we will work together to find solutions. We move fast, take an iterative approach in all we do, and won’t slow down even when obstacles are in our way.

We care about our Onticians

Our HQ is in Austin, Texas. For those who are local, you’ll experience a hybrid work environment. Come into the office a few days a week and have the flexibility to work from home as needed.

If you’re not located in Austin, most of our roles are eligible for remote work. We provide a one-time home office stipend to all Onticians to get you set up for success.

We offer monthly mobile phone reimbursements, and for remote employees, we also offer monthly internet reimbursements.

We have a flexible paid time off policy. Use this time for sickness, being with family, travel, or for anything else.

In addition to flexible PTO, we have ME (Mental Escape) days. Everyone deserves a day for their mental health to remove themselves from work and to enjoy doing something they love.

Most federal holidays are also observed as paid days off.

Various benefits plans to meet the unique needs of employees; including a fully-funded employee plan that exceeds current industry benchmarks.

We also have generous company-funded monthly HSA contributions, company-paid access to mental health resources and third-party benefits support to get your questions answered.

In addition to competitive base salaries, employees are eligible for either commission or bonus plans, company stock options, and are able to participate in a 401(k) plan.

We have an annual continued education stipend for all employees. Use it to take courses, attend seminars or webinars, and more.

There’s joy in the journey and we want to celebrate with you along the way. Onticians receive a challenge coin for every work anniversary. If you’re not familiar with challenge coins, check out more information here.

Join our team!

Don't meet every requirement in the job description? Studies have shown that women and people of color are less likely to apply for jobs unless they meet every qualification. At Ontic, we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace, so if you're excited about this role, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.

We're On Your Side

You applied. Now what?

At Ontic, we deeply value our candidates. Our commitment is to ensure you have an exceptional experience marked by meaningful conversations and warm, open communication. We recognize that the application process is two-way. You’ll get to know us just as much as we’ll get to know you!

What To Expect in the Recruiting Process

01

Submit Resume

Include a current resume and make sure your contact information is up to date when you apply for an open role.

02

Review

We review every submission we receive. We know it takes time and effort to apply, and we want to honor that you have invested that in Ontic. We promise to reach out to you, no matter what. If you don’t hear from our team within a week of applying, feel free to email careers@ontic.co, and we’ll make sure someone gets back to you.

03

Screen

Our team will review your application and request an initial screening if you meet the qualifications. This may involve a phone screen or a technical assessment, depending on the scope of the role you’ve applied for. The talent team will inform you of the next steps either way.

04

Interview Process

If you advance from the screen (yay!), the talent team will be in touch to arrange interviews with the hiring leader and cross-functional team members, either in person or via video. The process typically involves three rounds, concluding with a final presentation to a panel of Onticians.

05

Reference Check

You will be required to share professional references with us before proceeding to the next steps.

06

Offer

We will work with you on the details of your offer.

07

Onboarding

All new hires start together once a month to build a sense of community from day one. We prefer in-person onboarding at our Austin, TX office, known as CORE.

Ontic is an equal-opportunity employer

We are committed to a work environment that celebrates diversity. We do not discriminate against any individual based on race, color, sex, national origin, age, religion, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, military or veteran status, disability, or any other factors protected by applicable law.

UHC Transparency in Coverage

This link leads to the machine-readable files made available in response to the federal Transparency in Coverage Rule. The files include negotiated service rates and out-of-network amounts allowed between health plans and healthcare providers. They are formatted to allow researchers, regulators, and application developers to access and analyze data more easily.

Internet Crime Complaint Center

Ontic will never ask you to conduct a text-based interview or extend an offer for employment without conducting an in-person or video interview. Furthermore, Ontic will never ask you to provide your bank details directly to an Ontic employee via email as part of the onboarding process. If you have been asked to do any of the above, that is part of a known scam, and it should be reported.
