Bringing the Ontic Platform to the Federal Government

We’ve achieved “in process” FedRAMP status — a full-circle moment that traces back to our Protective Intelligence roots

We’re proud to share some exciting news: Ontic has officially achieved “in process” status within the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) and is now listed on the FedRAMP Marketplace. This marks an important step forward in our commitment to bring modern, connected, and data-driven security operations to U.S. government agencies.

Ontic recognized early on the value of Protective Intelligence — a proactive approach to threat prevention formalized by the U.S. Secret Service in the 1990s — and saw its potential far beyond the public sector. While the methodology existed, it lacked the technology infrastructure needed to scale. Ontic helped bridge that gap, bringing a technology layer to Protective Intelligence and introducing its principles to corporations ready to take a more intelligence-led, proactive approach to security. That foundation shaped how our platform works today, showing what’s possible when the right technology supports the people doing the work.

The challenges facing public sector security teams mirror those in the corporate world: siloed data, disconnected tools for threat research, and workflows that struggle to keep pace with a constantly evolving threat landscape. Ontic helps unify those efforts — providing a shared operating picture, real-time insights, and streamlined collaboration across teams and partners.

The Ontic Platform provides a centralized database of high-value assets and known threats, always-on monitoring of OSINT, public records, social media, the dark web, and more — all integrated with intuitive case management and investigation workflows. With Ontic, security leaders gain a 360-degree view of their threat landscape and the tools to act with confidence.

Our “In Process” FedRAMP designation demonstrates our commitment to meeting the rigorous security standards required to support U.S. government agencies and their missions — and we’re well on our way to achieving Moderate impact level authorization. To put it in perspective, fewer than 450 cloud services have reached this level of authorization out of nearly 600,000 U.S. software companies.

This level of investment in security and process rigor doesn’t just benefit federal agencies we work with — it also strengthens the platform our corporate clients use every day, many of whom face similarly high-stakes risk environments and have stringent operational and compliance expectations.

Our clients have always been — and will continue to be — our north star, guiding everything we build and do. We’re grateful to them, our partners, and the many Onticians who helped make this milestone possible. We’re excited to bring our platform and client-first approach to agencies across all levels of government.
