Kurt McKenzie is the Director of Physical Security at MongoDB, where he oversees facilities security, access controls, policy compliance, training, and travel security across domestic and international operations. A retired FBI Supervisory Special Agent with more than 20 years of experience, McKenzie led complex investigations into financial crimes, terrorism, and organized crime, earning multiple commendations including the FBI Medal of Excellence. His background includes deep expertise in protecting corporate environments—ranging from fraud detection and intellectual property protection to security program assessments. With a foundation in forensic science and technical training in pharmaceuticals, microbiology, and biochemistry, he brings a unique blend of investigative, scientific, and operational skills. Known for his leadership, cross-agency collaboration, and public speaking, he continues to help organizations proactively identify and mitigate risk.
