The Inspiration Behind behind Mark Greaney’s 11th Gray Man Novel, Sierra Six

When you’ve worked alongside one of the most well-known American novelists of all time (Tom Clancy) it’s safe to say you’ve learned a thing or two about writing a compelling thriller. Mark Greaney has come a long way since publishing his first novel in 2009 and has recently completed his 11th Gray Man novel, Sierra Six.

In this episode, he shares a sneak peek into the plot of his new thriller novel and what makes it stand out from the rest of the series. It’s a series that has grown in popularity over the years, with the film version of the first novel in the series, THE GRAY MAN, debuting on Netflix this year.

Mark Greaney has a degree in international relations and political science. In his research for the Gray Man novels, including Relentless, One Minute Out, Mission Critical, Agent in Place, Gunmetal Gray, Back Blast, Dead Eye, Ballistic, On Target, and The Gray Man, he traveled to more than fifteen countries and trained alongside military and law enforcement in the use of firearms, battlefield medicine, and close-range combative tactics. With Marine LtCol Rip Rawlings, he wrote the New York Times bestseller, Red Metal. He is also the author of New York Times bestsellers Tom Clancy Support and Defend, Tom Clancy Full Force and Effect, Tom Clancy Commander in Chief, and Tom Clancy True Faith and Allegiance. With Tom Clancy, he co-authored Locked On, Threat Vector, and Command Authority.
